(JNS) A 70-year-old Jewish Israeli man has been arrested after selling tens of thousands of fireworks to a Jerusalem Arab who planned on using them as weapons against Israelis.

The sale was reportedly conducted through another Arab resident of Jerusalem.

According to authorities, the Israeli Jew was aware that the buyer intended to use the fireworks as explosive projectiles against Israelis. The buyer allegedly has previous arrests for similar purchases from other Israeli Jewish dealers who also knew why the purchases were being made.

The latest deal provided 20,700 fireworks to the terrorist buyer for $28,400.

The seller and two other suspects were arrested and released to house arrest pending trial.

Arab rioters in eastern Jerusalem often use fireworks against security forces in eastern Jerusalem and shoot them into Jewish neighborhoods because they are cheap, available and often legal. The Jewish community on the Mount of Olives reports periodic terrorism conducted with the firecrackers, which are loud, explosive, fast and have the potential to start fires.
